I watched Costello's performances at the Elite 11 competitions when he was a HS senior. I did not think he looked better than Brennan before college. I have not been super impressed with him at Stanford, and the injuries have not helped. I think Brennan who has gotten to soak up Bradysminger's offense and learn under Burrow is going to be light years better than really any realistic transfer option out there at the QB position. If Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields are going to grad transfer down to LSU, then we have a conversation. Anyone else? Give me Brennan.

There are exactly three cases of what u speak against in this year’s playoffs and one was the most decorated player in LSU history. So those days are not gone. And it’s been noted here that there doesn’t have to be qb seasons like this one. Just somewhere between the good years of old and this year.

We're rolling with Brennan next year.

What does that have to do with anything? We're talking about one player, not signing an entire team! Burrow hadn't played in two years at Ohio State before coming to us and I think he did okay. To insinuate that good QBs only come from good teams is stupid. Burrow rode the bench for two years and he's about to lead LSU to another national championship! Your comment makes absolutely no sense!

If Joe Brady leaves.....can the next guy be someone who can recruit a 5 star quarterback? Alabama,Clemson , Georgia...they get one every year.

At some point soon, LSU needs to begin growing its OWN cycle of SEC caliber QBs. We can’t keep stringing along a kid like Brennan and then bringing in an OOC QB transfer. In order for top QBs out of HS to begin wanting to sign with LSU, our OC, QBs coaching staff needs to develop those that sign with us out of HS. Gone are the days of Mauck, Mettenberger, and Burrow. We need OUR high school picks to develop

I disagree. This is modern football where transferring is easy. Look how many of our own qbs have left the program. I think we should only sign one QB in each class and look to add a transfer when needed. Taking 2 high school qbs only ensures that one will transfer once the pecking order is set.
