So... Basically what you're saying is the only reason he is a ranked starred player is because he had a good surrounding cast? Great players make plays without groups of recievers and oline men that are college bound.

Seriously, many Top 100 recruits and I'm certain some REAL Top 10 QBs make plays without DI level receivers and lineman.

I think AJ will be fine. He's a solid QB. He did drop a few spots though so I'm not sure why people are acting like he jumped up the rankings.

I'm excited about Fluker due to his potential. LSU is recruiting him as well. He's not gonna step in and play LT right away but his upside is exciting.

I think they pushed Shep too low, hes a top 5 player on athletic ability alone

The only outrage I see is that Fluker (as a DT) is listed above Davenport. Between the two, Davenport is absolutely the better DT. Now if your ranking Fluker as an OT or OG and rank him above Davenport, that at least makes sense.

Also, I think Loston should be higher and those cali recruits are overrated. I can foresee at several of those being busts.

So it looks , with the help of moving recruits up and ours down, that bama is about to move ahead of us. What took so long?

You seen his senior numbers? Not exactly #4 player in the country type stats.

How does that explain Matt Barkley, please?

You guys are so hypocritical. You enjoy bashing McCarron saying "how bad he is" and that if he was any good then he would produce no matter what he has around him.... But you quickly defend Russell Shepard's sub-par passing statistics saying, "It's the system" or "he doesn't have anyone around him."

Cracks me up.

If this makes you laugh, go hang around the rant for a while. Should find a few chuckles there.

Shepard makes McCarron look like a pee-wee QB.

And no one has ever used the excuse of "Shepard has no OL or no WRs".

Barkley has the best arm to come out of HS in years. Stats not that great, but potential is huge. USC could land 6 of the top-14

Barkely is overrated, probably because of the USC commit. It's pretty hard to justify (I know he had a great game last week) the number one ranking based on his season cumulative stats. Gilbert is better IMO. much better.

thunderbird, I never tried to compare the two. I was simply saying to take the LSU blinders off and be fair both ways.

How would you explain Shepard's passing statistics? Don't give me the "it's the system" crap because I've seen numerous average quarterbacks play in a run first, pray on pass and be 65% to 70% passers in the highest classifications of high school football.

Look, Shepard is a DUAL-THREAT QB. He can run and pass well. McCarron is a pro-style QB who hasn't even been able to pass decently this year. This is what we're pointing out.

And stop the BS about the system has "nothing to do with his numbers". You've probably never even seen him play. Yes, his system has a lot to do with his numbers. It's a given if you're chucking the ball up a lot your comp. pct. won't look so great. It's a given if you're throwing screens and slants all night your comp pct. will be high. Watch Shep's game this week and you'll easily find out why his passing isn't up around 70%, it's because he's throwing downfield a lot and throwing up a decent amount of "pray balls". He can make just about any throw there is and has been a good decision maker this year.

I understand what you're saying about the system, and it is a true statement. But it doesn't make your completion percentage THAT low (53%).

But I guess I'll just watch the game, and then we can chat later.

Upside and natural ability. You can't teach his arm.

He has been a terrible decision maker this year. You can't be the Top QB in the nation much more the #1 overall recruit if you don't have the brains to play your position.
