y'all are trying too hard. The thread was meant for discussion. Everyone just laughs & doesn't say anything. So I assume you never played. And now I have serious issues. Okay dude, y'all win.

You are certainly acting kind of douchy. Do you think you are the only one on this board to play ball? I played football and baseball, but that does make me the love child of Joe Torre and Vince Lombardi.

well if you dumbasses played ball, contribute something other than and to the conversation. Otherwise I'll assume you're a troll and you never played. I don't think I'm anything special because I played ball. But it does give me an idea of what I'm talking about. You laughing at the post makes you look stupid & none of these answers as to why he can't play PG make any sense.

Fact: if you're trying to link my, still unknown to you, athletics experience to "serious issues in my own life", then your life probably sucks and you're overcompensating I've noticed that people that jump to "you played d3!!!!!" usually resort to that because they have shitty miserable lives and don't want to accept that anyone else does anything noteworthy My life's going pretty well, you should post pics of your house, wife, and friends though since you're so quick to bring it into a message board conversation.

And yea, you're obviously one of the morons that thinks watching sports on TV is enough to make you an expert even though in reality, anyone that played sports past 9th grade knows infinitely more than you ever will. And to answer your question about Ben Simmons, go read the original posts in this thread, OP already answered that question for you smart guy. I'm not expecting you to be smart enough to understand it after your mildly retarded logic on Malik Newman's commitment a few days ago but you can try

No 's for this? I am disappoint. If y'all don't think Magic (the all time leader in assists per game) was a point guard, I understand the caliber of "fans" I'm talking to and we'll just have to agree to disagree.

The retards and message board gangstas here would NEVER allow for serious discussion.

Yeah. But those guys post up other guards. Simmons should be able to post up post players.

Magic played center in the NBA finals - and won. They "gave that up" for him to run point.

You playing basketball in high school doesn't make you any more knowledgable than any average NBA fan that watches basketball.

And just because someone handles the ball the most or brings it up the court it doesn't make them the point guard.

Basketball is really becoming a positionless sport. A broadcaster said it best. Maybe jalen Rose? He said something like "positions are just made to help casual fans understand the game"

Anyways. To answer the question. Simmons will never be considered a point guard. A small forward with a high usage rate? Maybe so. But he will never in his career be considered a 1 or a point guard

Using my sports career as a qualification on a sports forum doesn't equal not letting go moron. You're the one that sounds insecure as frick and keeps bringing it up, I simply told the OP to avoid arguing with teetotal mouthbreathers such as yourself if he has any experience or knowledge of basketball because it'll just piss him off.

Sorry that you have half a brain and respond to being wrong with "don't let go!!!!!" like 90% of the other idiots on tigerdroppings that change the subject and throw around insults when they get called out. The guy wanted to have a serious discussion without clueless people jumping in so why don't you know your place and go back to pretending that you understand recruiting and saying retarded shite in the Malik Newman thread?

Lol the ironic thing about the Malik Newman thing is you actually aren't smart enough to comprehend what I said. A lot of others weren't smart enough either, so don't feel bad. But some did get it.

Now, can we get back to talking about how sweet you were in high school sports? Did you have a good Easter talking to your friends and family about those glory day memories?

No, actually it was just a really fricking stupid idea. I'm not even joking, it was such a dumb statement that I remembered your name 4 days later when you replied to my post. But since you're such a high intellectual, why don't you take this chance to explain your astute ideas to all the little people on the board that aren't quite smart enough to understand your lack of understanding the recruiting process?

Well since you asked,

I was saying that I thought if Newman had his mind made up to come to LSU, he would have already committed.

I simply thought that his ideal situation would be to go to UK, but only if he could get PT. So he was going to wait to see what UK's players did, before pulling the trigger. Once they decided, he would decide.

Do you get that?

Or am I really off base? I could be wrong, it's definitely possible. What level of basketball do I need to reach to have a valid opinion on this?

Now back to the OP,

Care to defend how Simmons is an NBA PG? Feel free to use personal experiences from your playing days, that definitely will relate

You are a fricking douche with little more than a passing knowledge of the game. You think you are some savant when you are just a run of the mill benchwarmer masquerading as a wily veteran. People are laughing at you because your thread is laughably stupid and pointless. Your behavior in response is the reason why you have few friends.

I've already said why I think he's a PG. I even said the type of players I'd put around him to best compliment his game. What I haven't seen in this thread yet is anyone "defend" why he's not. I just see personal attacks (to COMPLETE STRANGERS ) bad jokes & dumb shite like Magic Johnson wasn't a PG.

I never brought up my career, only that your all's lack of input makes me think you either didn't have one or wish you didn't. Also, if a person went to a D3 school, there's a pretty good chance his coach was from a higher division, which means they still know more than you fricking morons. And I went a little higher than D3, but that's beside the point.
