I saw him at the Sunkist shoutout and he doesn't look 6'10 to me
Closer to 6'8 or so

He is ok, nothing special and definitely not an SEC caliber player

There is an almost identical kid at Bell City HS that no one is talking about

Yeah, I've never seen the kid play. I am going only off of his reported size and stats, along with his improvement from freshman to now.

I have not added him to the recruiting prospects list, because I have no evidence he is an LSU target. At this point, he looks to be a low-major prospect.

Also saw him play at the Sunkist Shootout in the finals. Good player, but has a lot to learn. I would guess a legitimate 6'8 seeing him play but his post game is not that great. I do not see him as d1 material because at that size he would need to have a great post game or a good mid range shooter which he is neither to be a d1 prospect.

We need the size and there's been a ton of attrition. I say take him and let him develop.

I wouldn't be against it, depending on who else we get.

Guy's, I have strong feeling about this kid. Just Google him very impressive resume for only 3 years. Seen him play a lot and everytime he's improving. He played 4A class and had the best numbers in scoring and rebounding. Also watched him play this weekend and he dominated, a 6' 10" 280 lbs Jaleel Couisins. I feel Gibby is a sleeper we'll regret passing on.

Coached against him for 3 years and actually had a part in coaching him in the Bayou/River all star game. He may not be 6'10 but he's closer to 6'9. Alot of people don't know that he shed something like 35-45 pounds the past 2 seasons which made him much more athletic. Is he SEC caliber? Borderline. He's a great HS player with a unbelievable motor who happens to be a great kid also.

At one time the kid was 6'7 305 and could probably play SEC LT but choose to stick to basketball. Boise St basketball came down to watch him work out but I wouldn't have been shocked if they got him up there and made a football player out of him.

Do you know (or can you find out) if LSU has been in contact? If not, who has?

I, agree with "Eye". I watched this kid this weekend in New Orleans and I along with many were shocked with his performance. Seen things that he didn't do in the, high school season. Had a great showing with only a roster of 6 players on Sunday to win the Championship. Gibby has an offer with La Tech also and is planning a visit next week. Had an offer from. Nicholls last week.

I know LSU had a coach in New Orleans last weekend, but I don't know if he watched Gibby. Do you know?

Also another fact 3years ago this kid giave up what could have been a promising career in baseball for basketball. He's a lefty pitcher. If he would have stuck with baseball certainly would have been drafted for that this year.

He's playing baseball right now as far as I know. Maybe not taking it as seriously, but I pretty sure I read a recent article about him playing for his school.

Can he score on a 6'6 to 6'9 long athletic big man with out getting his shoot block.

If folks' perceptions are accurate, I really think we should offer this kid based on his size, motor and attitude alone. He sounds very coachable, too.
