Victor is a 6-foot-8 power forward from St. Augustine (La.), and is ranked No. 16 in CBSSports.com's Top 100 for 2014.

The five-star prospect is hearing from a long list of suitors: Baylor, Connecticut, Kansas, Georgetown, LSU, Alabama, UCLA, Miami (Fl.), Georgia Tech, Texas, Arizona, USC, Providence, Syracuse and Ohio State.

With his proximity to LSU, the hometown Tigers –with new head coach Johnny Jones – are looking to make an impression. While they weren't big players in his recruitment earlier in the year, the Tigers have greatly improved their chances recently.

quote:

“I sat down with the new coaching staff,” Victor said. “That was a good look. They're coming at me hard. The big difference for me was when they got [assistant coach] Robert Kirby from Georgetown. I saw him [wearing LSU colors] and I thought it was some kind of prank. And he's like, ‘I'm officially at LSU.'”

I hope the new staff can land some of this in-state talent we have coming through in the next few years....

Great news. Night and day. You know, I can handle losing a guy when the staff kills themselves trying to recruit them and it's evident that they're on the road hitting the ground every day. Because even if you miss on a few kids, you'll land a bunch others. I like how it's sounding with Victor right now.

This is nothing new. I broke this news to yall months ago a couple of weeks after Kirby was hired that Victor's camp really liked the Kirby hire. So, now I guess those who doubted me can believe me now

I believe he will be in college at least two seasons wherever he goes. From hearing his dad talk about his future unless he's a sure fire projected lottery pick in his first year, he'll stay until he reaches that level

Sounds like the dude is a pretty awesome player. Break his game down for me please, Hammond.

Note: I'm shitty at following recruiting.

IMO, he has all the tools to be a very dominant player. Good face up game on the block, nice post moves, good mid range jumper, good rebounder and shot blocker. I've said this before on here regarding one negative I see in his game is his lack of a killer mindset. This goes for a lot of kids his age as well. I'm waiting for him to make that leap in the game mentally. Once he does that, he will be unstoppable at the high school level. I'm hoping he's developing that killer instinct on the summer AAU scene this year.
