not really, because he doesn't

tell that to the next group of speed-rushing DEs that we bulk up to 270-290

Kirston Pittman's weight gain occurred during his injury seasons when he couldn't fully train and workout. You don't have to look on the d-line for those examples...

Anyone know his 40 time?

Pittman had what, 9 sacks last year?
he still only weighs 260
he may have lost speed from all his injuries, but his forte is rushing the passer. Though he has sucked this year.
As a FR, he came from ESJ as a LB. He was like 235 or so. So of course he was a speed rusher. It's crazy if you think he was supposed to stay at that weight.
His whole career until last year was to come in on 3rd down and rush the passer.
What i find funny though is saying LSU doesnt use speed rushers, yet who was the coach before Miles? Saban? What pass rush specialists thrived under him?
But he is going to make Mingo one?

The problem this year is that besides a lack of speed on the edge, teams are keeping 7 or 8 in to block our front four. We aren't using enough personnel to pressure the passer because we have to keep more back in coverage. Our secondary is the most glaring problem. If we could press cover, we could send more. But our inability to cover has caused us to try to pressure with only our front four. With 7 or 8 blocking, that ain't gonna work and I don't care how fast (or slow) you are.

saban didn't use speed rushers either when he was at LSU
this 3-4 bullshite was picked up by him in the NFL and he ran it mainly LAST year at bama
very few CFB teams run a full time 3-4. UVA does and that's all i can think of now
USC did 2 years ago

The leading sacker for ALA has 3.5 sacks this year.
Im sure he is licking his chops to go there and rush the passer.
Their 2 leading sack guys are DEs who weigh 287 and 278
3rd leader is a MLB

My point is that I think Mingo's best position is a 34 OLB. LSU doesn't run a 34.
Plus, if I played defense, I'd rather play for Saban than the two retards LSU has at co-DC.

WM still using lasers to time?

if he can play OLB in a 3-4 he can play one in a 4-3 as well.
cant think of too many college teams that use a 3-4 OLB to strictly rush the passer.

I believe they are JJ. And I heard that Jordan Allen's times were close to Mingo's.

Probably so, but I really think if Mingo goes to LSU he ends up deep on the depth chart at DE while he puts on a bunch of weight.

Either way, they could play him at a 9 tech and he can pin his ears back. That's what they have told him I'm sure.

My junior and senior year wasn't hand timed. You had to step on a mat and it automatically stopped the clock.
