This means they can only sign one of Perkins, Harris, and Mathews if any at all.

They can sign up to 32 if they have 7 guys transfer out, which they probably will.

Only way they sign more than one is if they use Saban math. Otherwise, if Harris has signed as reported, they are full.

Jimbo learned from Saban. If they all want in they will find a way.

This is wrong. They can add up to 7 extra spots for every player that transfers out of their program. They can fill those spots with either high school recruits or transfer recruits

With enough NIL money, who needs a scholarship? Why not walk on for a little extra NIL bonus?

You can tell who subscribes to 247 and who doesn't by reading this thread.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned this yet. Is this true? If walk-Ins don’t count against your number, you could theoretically bring in a good player with an NIL deal and extend beyond the number of allowed scholarships.

I wouldn't believe everything those guys say regarding the rules. Sonny Shipp still has an article up talking about the mythical 25 player "hard cap".

I thought this as well but then I did some research. The language of the rule does not restrict the additional signees to transfers, so I assume that means they can also be High School or JUCO recruits.

Here’s a quote from Ross Dellenger:
quote:

"Officials are set to pass a 1-year waiver next month to immediately expand the 25-man FB signing limit, sources tell Sports Illustrated," Dellenger tweeted on Tuesday. "Coaches can replace up to 7 players who leave for the portal. Max signing # would be 32 (25+7)."

ETA - Quote from NCAA website:
quote:

The Division I Council this week approved a one-year waiver of the annual signing limit and initial scholarship limits in football to allow schools to replace up to seven scholarship student-athletes who leave school after the first term.
