But did you dominate prepubescent soccer in Lafayette? Or sex with women?

Doesn't mean you had lateral mobility. Straight line guys would simply get run out of bounds against Houston teams. You wouldn't out-physical us either.

True...Just because of the number of kids playing though. The style of play in Texas is poor. Not technical at all. Just bomb the ball down the field and hope something happens.

Ummmm....no.

That is part of it. Also, training is superior and competition is better (hence players reach a higher level faster). Houston & Dallas are up there with the best soccer cities in the country - on the same level as the top Cali teams.

While playing club soccer I played a few Dallas teams that were supposed to be good. We blasted them. Although we had a few foreign players on our team. Two ended up playing MLS. When I played odp state, Texas always had a decent team.

ETA: I played in Pensacola in an international tournament one time an we had to play the u16 world champs Victorian FC from brazil. They were fricking amazing. They walked all over us 14-0. They did this to a team of ODP regional and national players at the time with some foreign players on our team as well. They were untouchable.

Every youth tournament that I go to in TX I have been pretty disappointed with the boys. Too frantic a style, not patient to break down a defense, just run and gun, no building from the back. I would really like to see them minimize substitutions to slow down the game and you'd get a better quality of creativity. Maybe I was harsh with saying, "Not technical at all" but I thought the flow of the games that I saw was way too frantic.

I don't think you have a good grasp on the meaning of the word "dominant". However, almost dominant ain't too shabby.
