Seems like every year there's the potential for some

Well according to the SEC this year, grad transfers count as part of the 25-man signing class, so no more.

So that’s an SEC rule? I just assumed that grad transfers counting against the 25 was an NCAA rule. Other conferences can take grad transfers without it counting against their 25?

There’s a lot of rules that seem to be selectively enforced in the SEC...
I’ve never heard of a transfer in any NCAA sport counting against a recruiting class.

I'm confused with the rule. I posted on here about a month ago,I have a friend Who works at Miami and he said they can sign 26-27, and they just pick up a transfer dt. Is the rule a Sec? because it doesn't seem Universal around the college football.

So bama abused the rule for years and benefited from it. Now we can't

No, it's an NCAA rule; not a unique SEC rule.

The confusion is that people continue to erroneously say that there's a hard cap of 25 players that can never be exceeded. You can still exceed the 25 the same way you always could, namely back counting early entrants against the previous year's class as long as that class was under 25. Many teams are going to sign more than 25 this year.
