They couldn’t actually say he looked better than their two higher ranked QB’s, could they?

Maybe because OP click baited you?

One of the best on the field regardless of class was Los Alamitos (Calif.) High signal-caller Malachi Nelson. The 2023 prospect was outstanding, as smooth and natural a thrower as anyone in attendance.

With that, 247Sports takes you inside the event.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Williams continues to prove he’s the most physically talented signal-callers in this class. From his arm strength and athleticism, he takes a backseat to nobody in each category. On Saturday they ended the day with a competitive event, a big post and an out route and according to QB Collective coach Will Hewlett for Williams they were two of the most impressive throws of the day. It was more of the same Sunday for the future Sooner who was fluid and smooth on the move. Williams exudes a lot of confidence and obviously brings a ton of potential to Norman.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Maye is in the conversation as the top quarterback in the class as well. The combination of footwork and velocity along with the accuracy was pinpoint in this setting.

Hewlett described Nussmeier as explosive regarding both his arm talent and movements. The future Tiger at the very least pushed Williams and Maye from a consistency standpoint, and was on the money just about every rep. Nussmeier came out strong from the first throw and never looked back and his performance was as strong as anyone’s this weekend in the Hoosier State.

It pretty much says Nuss is on par with those guys which is what some of us have been saying for a while but we’ve been called homers

247 keeps saying great things about him and ranking in the top 5 at these events but they have him considerably lower than anyone else

Rivals has him at #88 overall
ESPN has him at #62 overall
247 has him at #228 overall

Eye in the sky doesn’t lie and that kid is a lot damn better than #228 overall

With that said - 247 had Joey B at #210 overall coming our

Nuss is in a bad spot from a depth chart standpoint. Max will likely be the starter after Brennan and better prospects Walker Howard, and potentially Arch Manning are coming right behind him.

Nuss is a Top 100 talent. I’m sure he will move up in 247 rankings eventually.

If you're going to make that argument Nussmeier is a better prospect than Johnson and will definitely compete for the starting spot.

And those elite 11 guys said he wasn’t a top 10 QB even though he looked awesome from what I saw. Dudes are absolute idiots and are the reason that the elite 11 is falling off.

I guarantee that if Nuss went into the elite 11 as a 5* they woulda had him as a top 5 QB there

Don’t sleep on Max... I’ve heard from some who think he’s going to be a future top round pick

Nope, I read the article, dumbass. Two good throws by Williams, but no talk of accuracy, just confidence.
“At the very least Nussmeier pushed” the other two is code for was more impressive but would discount our rankings and narrative.”

I try to imagine brennan staying another year but I just don't see it if he runs the offense without a ton of turnovers. His arm and release is elite .put it all together and you would think there's a what ,4th round floor.

It really is just about impossible to predict what he is under sec pressure. I'm bout to go back and watch his Td drive against troy and the int where he got pulled .I forgot about it till recently, I think it was the receivers fault though.

Anyway,I'm just bored and wanted to discuss

What are you talking about? Their last ranking had him at 7 and he finished in the “Elite 11”

What does that statement tell you?

Accuracy and completion percentage were never mentioned.
I'm not knocking the young man but, if you are going to praise him give some valid stats.

They intentionally walked around consistency and accuracy. It's always about the wow plays and natural talent. It's a projection that they have to justify. I'm a Williams guy but I don't expect him to match some of these kids throw for throw in these events. Also 247 has bahard on for dual threats. It's a must unless the talent is generational.

I missed where they said he performed the best At this particular event. Most physically talented is not the same.

Oh and the word is because, not cuz.
