I'm not familiar with this guy too much other than what I've heard on here, but to say a fullback is a waste of a scholly is like saying you can pick any big guy up to play O-line. Besides, I'm sure Crowton is wanting more of a Mike Alstott type FB. With a dual threat at FB, gives one more weapon to his arsenal. I guess most ppl forgot what Hillis did to us last year.

I didn't say it's a waste of a scholly in general, I said it's a waste of a scholly for THIS year's recruiting class. We don't need a huge honking FB to run our offense. Hillis was not a true big blocking FB. He was more a receiving/running threat than anything. The guy wasn't even but 240lbs and his main knock was he wasn't a good blocker and didn't have much strength.

If the coaches like him, I'm on board as well. But also you have to think that maybe he was one of those boarderline guys that has a teammate or underclassman of interest from E. St. John that the coaches are hoping to entice with Alex's commitment(assuming he commits). You know PIPELINE.

I don't intend to be rude, but that's ridiculous. The defending national champions don't have to do that.

Why is that ridiculous? You know if you were in between two schools the one with the edge would probably the one with your buddy on it.

LSU already has Francois and Dixon from ESJ.

They wouldn't offer a BORDERLINE prospect a scholarship to add a third player from the same school - to woo a teammate at ESJ.

Realize how ridiculous it sounds now....not to mention that there isn't a particular teammate that it pertains to...b/c there isn't one.

Somewhere Tommy Banks is laughing at you.

A quality FB is an integral part of your team. Short yardage, protection, catches out the backfield, quick hitters in the middle. The FB from Ar-kansas was a pretty big part of their offense last year, even with the 2 stud backs. I like the offer, if this guy is as athletic as some are making him seen. Throw in the fact the guy is skilled with the ball and it's a no brainer.

The coaches have a plan, and trust me taking Singleton and down the road saying "sorry Andre Debose, we don't have room" isn't part of it. They'll find a way to sign all the guys they really want who decide to come here, they always do.

And this is an important position to address, especially in this class. Just look how much Quinn Johnson plays and that will tell you a good FB is important in this offense.

Charles Scott can block, but is more useful as a running back, ridley will never play FB, Theriot is a LB and has never played FB in his life, and Edwards is a 6'3 TE playing FB out of necessity.

Singleton would be in the 2 deep next year and have a legit shot at starting. I don't see that as a waste.
