Obviously we want him, but I think Lane has been clear about his strategy when it comes to paying or overpaying high school players. If they don't think he's going to contribute day 1, they're not going to blow the budget on him for him to come sit for a year then leave.

It's always the biggest fish who think they're too good to stay in state.

None of the big fish who've left the state have excelled in the last 15 years outside of Landon Collins and Ven Preen.

Even Cam Robinson underwhelmed.

The Ettienne brothers were not big fish.

Devonta Smith was a 5 star on one service.

I'm talking about the Sophsers and Mannings of the world.

We go after 100% of the 5 stars that come out of this state. It's not ridiculous to say that the percentage of offers that sign here definitely decreases as their national rating increases.

I guarantee you this is not atypical. For any state. Big-time 5 star recruits get loads of money and attention showered on them from all the big national programs. (And a+m ;-)

Good 4 stars are more spread out throughout the south, and get less national attention, but usually plenty from their state schools.
