Bottom line is there is a poster that visits multiple board directed toward LSU and defends Saban until you literally can't understand what he's saying anymore because the gargle sound is all too prevalent. Trio, it's time to either spit or swallow. Either way, you just took it in the mouth.

No. Bama was in a very similar position to LSU when Saban took over.

Agreed...but I doubt he will win the SEC this year

Obviously

and I doubt he will win it all in 2 years

Obviously. What does that tell you?

Saban took over a 3-8 LSU team. 3-8. I figured you would have known that.

It should tell you that Saban did more with what LSU brings to the table then what Bama does. Bama, on it's own, doesn't bring much to the table. So, you have to sell your soul to a guy like Saban.

It's a shame that a once proud fanbase like Bama is now relegated to rooting for a coach rather than their school. It's pathetic.

LSU's problem was not talent, it was coaching. Saban inherited a good program already, and he elevated the talent even more with his superior recruiting. Alabama does not have talent to win the SEC, LSU did. Huge difference. Bama is fresh off probation and is currently in the worst run in quite a long time.

Are you really trying to sit here and say that Bama brings nothing to the table? In 2000, who the frick cared about LSU? You were a middle of the road SEC team at best...AT BEST. You had 3 winning season's in the 90's, you've had 1 MNC prior to Saban's arrival.

I've heard it all, Bama itself brings nothing to the table...hilarious.

PS...before some rantard barks out the "living in the past" line, I'm simply responding to this dolt. When Saban inherited LSU, you brought NOTHING to the table.

3-8 dude. You can't spin that. What Saban inherited at Bama is very similar to what he inherited at LSU.

Absolutely. Go read any of your own posts...all you talk about is Saban. Your hope is in Saban...not in Bama.

I have evidence to support my claim. Saban will not accomplish at Bama what he did at LSU. That's telling.

Additionally, LSU is rolling with Saban out of the picture. That's also telling.

Can you point to anything in this decade that indicates that Alabama is more ripe for success than LSU? I know that you can't because it doesn't exist.

You guys seriously don't realize it but the worshiping of a former coach (Bear Bryant) minimizes the accomplishments of the university as a whole.

And, you've fallen into the same trap again...by not only hoping but by declaring as loudly and often as people will listen that you've hired a coach that will "Raise Bama Up". It completely destroys the perceived value of your program as a whole. It shifts credit to your coach. Why the hell do you think Saban was selected as "Most Powerful".

But, you keep beating that drum. And, keep thinking it puts Bama in a good light. And we'll keep laughing at you for it. The desparation is embarrassing.

I've heard it all...

If you would have asked the question in 2000, who is more ripe for success LSU or Bama? What would you have said? Bama.

In 2 years Alabama will again be a household name competing on a national level again. Anyone who fails to realize this is blind deaf and dumb. Saban recruits to good for Bama not to "get back".

That being said, Alabama Fans need to realize that the SEC is tough, and is never going away. Miles, Richt, Meyer and company will continue to recruit with great success and will continue to be successful. But with the athletes and players Saban will bring in, there is no mistaking the fact that Bama is on the rise. How high we will go is a mystery...but again, doubting we will get there is wishful thinking.

Yet you say that Saban won't be able to accomplish in Bama what he did at LSU in the same period of time. What does that tell you?

Like I said, keep beating that Saban drum. I enjoy hearing Bama fans admit that Saban > Alabama.

You have Bama fans in general "pegged". And this is clearly why Forbes voted Saban "most powerful". He owns Alabama right now. They are his beotch. And they are praying that he wins ball games. If he fails, the Governor better call in the National Guard. It will be ugly.

Those recruiting numbers really dont mean crap. Yes a 5 star is probaly better than a two star, but THEY ARE KIDS AND NO CLUE HOW THEY WILL TURN OUT. IT IS JUST LIKE A KID WITH A 29 ACT, HE HAS ABILITY TO MAKE GOOD GRADES BUT WILL HE? I picked thta muber because I have a lot of buddies that failed out of college with 27-29 ACT's. Some had drinking problems, some missed home, girlfriend at home, some didnt study, some just didnt like college. Same prpblems with college athletes. This is all BS to prop up and create Recruiting Services like Rivals and Scout who dont even meet most of these kids or know much about them other than 40 times size bench press etc. Anybody in the top 15 or 20 so can have a better class than someone else. Since the coaches recuit and call plays just judge them by wins on the field.
