Why is he transferring?

Man we were never a contender for guys like this before Wade. Viva la general wade

No reason has come out. I wonder if not being the focal point last year had something to do with it. That’s just a 100% guess.

The funny thing is that we'll still have a few retards on here wanting to fire him after we lose a couple of SEC games next year.
We're lucky to have Will Wade imo.

Lol at the downvotes. Go look at 247 all time LSU recruits and tell me we didn’t get top talent before Wade.

If you look at LSUs top rated all time recruits on 247, Wade doesn’t have one in the top 6.
Love Wade. He’s my favorite coach at LSU. But there has been some major talent wasted here pre-Wade.
ETA: How tf was Elbert a 4 star lol. Remember that dudes highlight tape.

Yes it has nearly always been poor (terrible) coaching. Imagine Wade with JJ’s first squads
Posted on 4/20/21 at 12:57 pm to purplengold1
Because he was 7ft 260+ with a baby hook shot lol playing against private schools

Lousiana has also been putting out some pretty shitty basketball talent since Wade got here. Not 1 5 star & Javonte Smart was the only player even close to 5 star status at #35 overall.

Maybe the 13-14 team, but you have to give JJ some credit for making that 12-13 team even remotely competitive. Going into that season LSU was 12-36 in SEC play in the prior 3 seasons and had lost three starters from Johnson's final season at LSU. The only contributors from the prior season Jones inherited were Stringer, Hickey and JOBIII. He pieced together the roster for his first season by adding Carmouche (from UNO) and Shavon Coleman (JUCO).
Coleman was a 6'5" guard who was essentially force to play PF. LSU started a freaking tuba player who didn't even play much HS ball (if any) in 21 games! Yet, Jones was able to lead the team to a .500 record in SEC play. It was the first non-losing SEC season in 4 years. They even won a game in the SECT.
Jones was never great at LSU. But until the final season when the program just quit he was more consistent than the prior two HCs. Brady could and DID win the SEC one year then finish at the bottom of the league the next. Johnson had one great season with some of Brady's holdovers then just decided he didn't want to recruit. Jones probably underachieved more than we'd like. But (until his final season) at least he wasn't downright terrible like we saw many times with Brady and Johnson.

Can you imagine if JJ would have had Simmons at point guard?

Too bad Jones did not have to contend with the sanctions he and Brown left for Brady.
