quote:I've said this plenty before. ESPN is trash and doesn't have scouts and Rivals is so old, all the good evaluators have long gone.
It’s ridiculous that they make it so hard to see their own team rankings. They may have us a bit high and 247 a bit low. It still averages out a few spots higher than the industry or composite rankings.
Even if the percentages are weighted, Rivals and ESPN just aren’t good enough to deserve to have any kind of meaningful input on recruiting anymore. On3 and 247 are the only ones worth paying attention to when it comes to player and team rankings.
0n3 has us at 6th and 247 has us at 12th. However if you take the average of both ranks for just 247 and 0n3, the legit rankings come out as
1. UGA
2. Bama
3. Ohio St
4. FSU
5. Texas
6. Oklahoma/ND
8. Miami
9. LSU
10. Florida
If they still do rankings bumps after the All American games, and state championship games, then Hurley, Green, Durham, and Atkins could get bumps. There is also still a chance of at least one of Echols, Bussey, and McKinley. Those two things combined could get us to 7th, 6th at the most.
However, if you're mad at 9th in a down year in Louisiana, you're lost.

Projected Top 15 pick in 2025 Draft. Former 7v7 teammate and friend of Garrett Nussmeier. LSU was a finalist in his original recruitment. Game changing talent
If we were able to land him then it would be a significant portal grab. But I don't think he is going to elect to come to LSU, I would expect Bama or Texas. But curious to see what happens with him.

I’m more interested in the average per recruit, rather than the overall score. I take out kickers, punters and long snappers because they skew the results.
The overall score is misleading because they only use 17 players to score. Some of the other teams that are in the top 20 have 20 or less in their classes. Whereas, LSU has 27 (tied for most with 3 other teams).
Just an observation, but Georgia has a punter committed and their average player rating is 91.95! Ridiculous!
