Agree, Kim is not getting into a bidding war. We have Flaujae earning $1.4 million NIL, and she has proven herself to be a superstar the past 2 years and has earned every dollar of the NIL. If you're not successful, you're not getting the high NIL's. Chavez just started her senior year in high school, and she is already asking for $1.35 million NIL, basically the same NIL as Flaujae? That is ridiculous for her and her dad to demand that much now when she hasn't even graduated HS yet. Kim has every right to back off and not play that bidding game. Let's go after the other 5-star recruits. I am excited we have Divine and Bella so far. Both of them love Kim and LSU, and want to be coached by her.

Texas avg attendance in 2023-2024: 6,800. Avg attendance past 3 years: 5,300.

LSU avg attendance 2023-2024: 11,500. Avg attendance past 3 years: 8,100.

Keep in mind, the vast majority of Flaujae's money was earned on her own. Only a fraction of that amount is coming from LSU.

According to multiple articles, Flaujae said all of her deals (LSU NIL and music) are worth total $4.5 million. Her NIL deals at LSU valued at $1.4 million. So it would appear that the other $3.1 million is from her music.
But the point I was making above, Flaujae has already proven herself, both on the basketball court and from her music, she has earned every dollar. Don't think Flaujae had NIL before she arrived at LSU. Chavez has not done anything yet to earn $1.35 million before she even graduates HS.

Kim gets who Kim wants

Unless the recruits want BIG money.

Let's just see who has the BIG money.

I have a hard time justifying paying a football recruit a mil plus and certainly wouldn't pay a women's bb recruit that much.
In her 4 years the program she attends won't profit that much(will likely lose $). So is losing money the object here? How should the football program feel about using their money to pay a women's bb player a mil a year? Who signs off on these things? And how were they ever successful? Definitely some funny math going on in these athletic departments and NIL collectives. Not to mention the businesses supposedly giving the money. Wheres the return on investment? Successful companies don't throw away $ without some kind of benefit ensured. The IRS would have a field day if they dug into this stuff.

It is not LSU's football program nor LSU AD that pays the NIL's. It is companies, boosters, fans, etc, who pay NIL's. Like shoe companies, clothing companies, auto dealerships, food, electronics, etc. So LSU AD is not going to lose money on a WBB player since LSU AD is not paying her.
Highly visible players like Angel, Flaujae, Aneesah, and superstar Seimone, etc, are bringing exposure to LSU and BR. Since Angel and Flaujae arrived and we won the WBB natl championship, we have had record number of admission applicants (more money). Same with Coach Kim, since she arrived she has been instrumental bringing in top players and economic impact to BR and state of LA. So is LSU really losing money? It's not just about WBB, it's also about LSU the university, city of Baton Rouge, the state of LA, etc. These are big reasons why the AD hired Kim.

Couldn't have said it better myself. People need to stop being so shortsighted when it comes to NIL. Nobody is "losing" money. The big reason I think you wouldn't pay a freshman like that, is because we have two upperclassmen (Flau'je and Mikaylah), who will be making close to that by the time they're seniors and NO freshman is worth as much as them.

Its already been seen that the NIL can destroy locker rooms. You don`t pay
a freshmam whom has never competed in college the same or more than
the players that have proven they are worth it in games played.

I agree, and the family should know that if the kid comes and shows out her freshman season, the money will be there her sophomore season.

Livvy Dunne, highest paid NIL in college women's sports, has done good things with some of her NIL's. She gets along with her gymnastics teammates, no locker room issues. She set up some of her NIL's thru LSU Bayou Traditions. One is a local Orthodontist who provides services (thru her Livvy Fund) for LSU's female athletes. Two of them are ADR and Aneesah who received braces. Another is one of her gymnastics teammates. Livvy is actually very generous and a smart business woman.
