Ok well I dont wanna argue about something petty like this but he was a 3 when he signed with LSU, Im guessing that 2 star rating on his profile is a mistake.

O I figured it out, he didnt make it past the NCAA in '04 and in '05 he got the 2* rating.

After all the Josh Williford debating, I wondered if we may be blinded a bit by the stars.

No, it is not the stars!

RANTards are blinded by being totally incompetent at judging offensive line talent, so they totally rely on Rivals or Scout to tell them what to think.

If it weren't for the stars, you geeks would be totally blind about recruiting--just keep your ignorant opinions about OL talent to yourselves and let the pros like Miles do the judging.

While no one one here has the eye for talent the LSU coaching staff does, nor Miles' expertise with the O-Line; Willford's tape did not look as impressive as others.

Thats all you can say, because no one knows anything else.

my take is the star rating argument has been beaten to death over the last few years.

Amen! They talk like they have personally scouted the players for hours. Most go by what they read on Scout or Rivals.
For those of you who have forgotten,Hester originally committed to Texas.

People do carry on too much about the star business. Take for instance the three star last year Jermaine Thomas that FSU and LSU were going down to the wire for.

This guy does not look anything like the skinny highschool kid being recruited last year. He has really bulked up and running track trying to get his 40 time under 4.4.

I think Fisher has done it again with a Jacob Hester type, a two star running back in Ty "superman" Jones. The gators and most gave up on him because they thought he would not qualify but did at the last minute.

He is built like Mike Tyson, runs a 4.5 and his teamates actually called him superman.

Fan, I agree also. The stars are "sometimes" overrated. I think when it comes to 3 stars who could possibly have the potential to be 4 or 5 stars. IMO some players are good high school players regardless of stars and some will be good college athletes and few will be pros. Stars dont measure the athletes heart, will and determination.
