2022 class has the makings of another FAM type class
Lots of homegrown players that know what putting the LSU jersey on means.
That will win more games and avoid the bad locker room guys or those that aren't afraid to put in the work.

I know COVID was tough in a lot of ways especially for those out of state players but homegrown talent will win a lot of games.

Louisiana is a unique place, so is Baton Rouge. I think it is imperative that each class be heavy on Louisiana kids (or those with close ties). You can see with out of state kids it can be a big transition. I came from the mid-Atlantic to LSU as a student and it was a massive transition in lifestyle, culture, and people. I wouldn't trade my experience for the world, but I can see how a kid from Cali or Baltimore might struggle to adapt sometimes. Having a core Louisiana contingent keeps the culture tight and can help the out of town kids get comfortable.

Definitely. Makes me wish we were able to bring on Major Burns from BR. Now he's doing very well at UGA

It's great to get out of state players from Georgia/Cali/Virginia.

But if the Louisiana talent is there and WANTS to go to LSU, it is better.

La hs players understand the rivalries with UF/Aub/Ala. Just think if you are from Washington. Your biggest rivalry game is the Apple Cup.

Here, they understand.

Look those 5 star out of state talents are tremendous players but am in state 3 or 4 star is going to work their butt off and give you everything they have.

Guys like Jefferson and Hester and the Albergamo and Andolsek's from the old teams.

I remember the same thing when Hallman got all these out of state guys and so many of them never panned out while letting top LA talent flee the borders.

Dinardo was the first to go after those LA guys.

Word on the street is that Burns is about to hit the portal and LSU could be his landing spot

If you want LSU only being relevant every 4 years and continuing that cycle then this is the strategy. I get you need to recruit in state talent and keep the top guys but the state does not produce enough top level talent every year to have this strategy and be at the level LSU fans want us to be.

To be up there with Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State they need to recruit nationally when the state is down and when you get a class like 2022 is when the state is loaded you load on the in state guys and mesh them in with the top level talent from around the country.
