Why did Gunnell fall so far? His high school numbers are very impressive and he’s playing at a big school in a very competitive state.
He's performed horribly in camps and all-star events.
It appears he has a good arm, but his numbers are a product of his system. He telegraphs passes and can't see the whole field, at least according to several scouts/recruiting analysts at camps. Has trouble taking what the defense gives him and making adjustments.

Kid is a great athlete, dont mistake that for a second, but if you watch him play, he leaves a lot to be desired as a QB. I do not see him translating well at QB at the next level. However I do think he could be a hell of a skill guy at the next level.

Alabama and Georgia have beat LSU to the punch with offers.
You dont actually think those are legit offers I hope (they aren't, and never were committable).
Legendre's options are right now are pretty much FSU or bust. He isnt getting much other interest, he just doesnt translate as a QB that well, never understood him being a 4-star QB. 4-star ATH, I would totally get it. Extremely inconsistent throwing the football.

Man, get out of here with that crap. They are definitely legitimate offers or else these schools would never have offered the kid, it amazes me how you clowns always belittle some players for whatever reasons. He doesn't translate well to QB, he's inaccurate, well he threw 5 TD's the other nite, but of course he needs work, what young kid coming out of HS doesn't need work. Some require more work than others, but to say that this kid doesn't belong at QB is ridiculous. A lot of y'all were on here putting down and saying the same shite about the Keytaeon Thompson kid when he was coming out of HS, and he has only been solid for State in Fitzgerald's absence, and will only get better once he takes over from Fitzgerald when he graduates.
To me the problem isn't the players that LSU gets to play QB, it's how they are being prepared to play QB at LSU imo. LSU's system stinks with the shite that first Miles and Cam had them running and now Ensminger and Orgeron. These kids go there and look terrible playing QB, and they weren't bad QB's coming out of HS. I truly believe had Harris and Jennings gone to other schools instead of LSU their careers would have been much different, same with Lee and Jefferson. LSU plays these QB's in mostly run oriented offenses with all kinds of crazy play calls mixed in that no other college teams would run, absolute garbage.
These QB's wind up looking like a shell of themselves, terrible and get unfairly criticized for it. Joe Burrows looks rather regular in LSU's offense right now, nothing to get real excited about, but he was not looking like that when he was at Ohio State. He looked awesome in their spring game, but the first 2 games for LSU and he looks rather anemic. They do not put these QB's in offenses that use their strengths, and it's BS to me.

LSU can get a 5 Star Qb and it won’t make a god damn difference. There is no one on staff capable of developing a quarterback.
This is the truth yet they down vote the crap out of you.

I trust Aranda to hire a competent OC and offensive staff including QB coach.
By the time Finley makes it to campus it should be Aranda's regime.

Jennings looked slightly better at LA Tech than he did at LSU and Harris was a lot worse at NC. I mean, he was almost historically bad.

Jennings went to Louisiana Lafayette.

I actually thought he played better in his last season playing ball at North Carolina, I watched him and he threw some great passes with that great arm he has, and then would throw some horrible passes because of the inconsistency. That only comes from the crap shite that they had him doing at LSU, the kid never developed there and neither did Jennings. But he led NC to some great drives in some games throwing lasers down the field, then would get in the red zone and throw a pic right to the defender because he was staring down the WR he wanted to throw to. LOL Him and Jennings should have been in a spread offense from the jump at LSU playing up to their strengths. The NC coach didn't have enough time to work with him because he only had him for that 1 season, and he had a frosh QB that was good that Harris was splitting time with that the NC coach was more invested in than Harris.
Just tough luck for these QB's like I said, had they gone elsewhere I truly believe they would have gotten developed much better in different offenses.

When a coach mentions he is looking at a great QB recruit, that doesn't necessarily mean the recruit is highly rated by recruiting services. Coaches look at a lot of players and sometimes it could be someone that hasn't gotten much national attention. I mean, I don't believe O or his staff check 247 recruit ratings to decide just which players they will recruit. They watch the players personally and make their own evaluation. That's a misconception by most fans that follow recruiting. A recruiting staffs evaluation process is much more important than what some recruiting service has a player rated as. Overall I think LSU's evaluation of recruits has been pretty good except for their evaluation of QB's. Especially true for Miles staff. They missed on some good QB's because they couldn't evaluate QB's very well at all. I mean, everybody in the world wanted Brandon Harris. Nearly everybody in LSU land said LSU had to get this guy. Harris just wasn't a good QB. But nobody wanted Dak Prescot. I mean nobody on Miles staff that I know of wanted him. I think Cameron got on him late, maybe, but too late to bring him to BR. It's just a difficult position to evaluate. So, when O says he is looking at a great QB, doesn't mean we fans have ever heard of him because he isn't rated high in the services. I still believe Brennan will develop into a very good QB at LSU. He may have only one season to start and show his ability, but I think he will and have a great season.

Holy shite dude, really? Same crap he did while at LSU!
Harris at UNC
35/71 346yards 49.3%
1TD 8INT
QB Rating 72.3
He wasn't bad, he was terrible! He could have played there all 4 years, it wouldn't have made a difference!

You are taking a pummeling in this thread, you might as well just stop before you completely embarrass yourself.
Harris was a total trainwreck at UNC throwing 1 TD to 8 picks and completing less than 50% of his passes.
Harris at UNC
He had 2 consecutive ACC games against UVA and VT where he went 11 for 29, 70 yards, 0 TD, 5 INT...that's 2.4 yards per ATTEMPT

Man, he hardly moved the damn ball at LSU, honestly, I don't know what some of y'all were looking at. He played sparingly at LSU having to split time with Jennings and then Etling with Etling finally taking over. When he would pass the damn ball for LSU it was usually on a third and long because LSU ran the damn ball so much, making a mistake passing wise and then getting yanked out the game. LOL You cannot fricking develop has a QB like that, having him pass the ball only in important situations when you need a first down to keep a drive alive, I mean that's BS. You will always be inconsistent as QB because of the junk those jackasses that call thmselves coaches run there, offenses not conducive to a QB passing the ball regularly. They continue to run the ball a lot, even now because Ensminger lied about a wide open attack, and people around the country have come to recognize them offensively for doing that BS. Harris played 1 fricking season at NC taking the bad habits he picked up at LSU with him, you really fricking think he was gonna all of a sudden be this really good QB. LOL
But had he gone their from the beginning and Fedora worked with him all 3 or 4 seasons. Brandon Harris would have been a really good QB and probably on some NFL roster right now.
