Looks like Jimmy Graham there...

Imagine when he's 6'7 235 in 2017.

He's gonna tear it up at camps this summer.

I know it's not really important, but what are the chances he picks up a 5th star?

He's gonna be good. I know the tone around here was shifting towards "Shea is better", but Franks has a higher ceiling in my opinion. He's Perriloux, Kiel, and Zack Lee good. He'll be the missing piece in an extremely "close to complete" puzzle.
I've stated this a couple times the past two days, but I'll keep saying it as much as I have to. He is the perfect QB for our offense. He is the perfect QB Cam wants. He's further along in his development than Harris was at the same time also. A 6'5.5 220 (somebody said 228 in an earlier thread), pro style QB with mobility (looks faster as a junior than he was in his sophomore tape) and a big arm to make all the throws.
He already plays behind center, so the learning curve should not be as steep for him once he gets here. This guy is just going to get better and better. His ceiling is so damn high, and I expect him to earn 5 star status before it is all said and done.

Hey, sounds good to me...Welcome to LSU, Franks! LSU is at the 'piss on a sparkplug' stage as far as leadership and performance at the QB position. We wish you well and success. Geaux Tigers!

Sound great. Can't wait to get him on campus. Hope he doesn't get the fifth star though cause that usually happens when you sign with the Gumps.

Scouting comparison: Feleipe' Franks (ESPN 300: 55) -- Winston was extremely talented but also extremely raw out of high school. Franks is similar in that regard; both have long deliveries but quick-snap releases. Both Winston and Franks are sneaky-good but not great athletes, and both have a feel for the game around them and the ability to improvise and make plays. Like Winston as a college prospect, Franks has loads of upside -- not just as a dual-threat guy, but also as a passer who can beat you from within the pocket if he continues to develop that side of his game.

If all else goes as planned, we get at least one NC with him at the QB...and I've never predicted a NC up 'till this point...he has the intangibles to go with the arm...jmho

I get the feeling that he and Cam can hardly wait to get to work together...

I've asked this before, but why is Franks considered a dual threat? He doesn't seem to move super fast or anything, he's huge and has a big time arm..
Is it because he can run people over, kind of like a Tim Tebow? Or does he even do this?
NEWS FLASH - Neither one of them are dual threats. That's something the databases tag these kids with and it sticks. Only 1 of the 4 services (rivals) considers SP a dual threat. ESPN correctly categorizes Feleipe Franks as a Pocket passer. Sometimes it helps rankings when you classify guys separately. Move a pocket passer to the dual threat side, and he's ranked higher. IMO.

He's going to be a pocket passer that can buy time with his feet...I don't see him running at all unless the pressure forces the situation...hopefully 1 or 2 times a game...the future of our running game looks damn good...mix in a few flares and deep routes at a time of our choice....the recruiting has NEVER been this good for LSU football...our OL is only going to get better...jmho
