Wow. Film is sick. I didn't know this guy was serious about LSU. Holy shite though. HUGE recruit. Probably the biggest since Peterson or Mett.

Fournette was apparently suppose to be at Bama this weekend but didn't go.

Dude, he's already been to Bama and UF. He loves us. You're right it's a long way... And I expect him to pick up a whole bunch of talent to come with him along the way to LSU. Furthermore, this kid could be the start of something really special at LSU, like PP7 was for our DBs.

I'm so excited!

if mentioning LSU in the 90's doesn't jinx the news about Daub, nothing will.

Dude, maybe you should reread the article. It was the greatest confidence booster for me.
quote:

"After the Top Gun camp I'm shutting it down," Daub said. "My recruiting will be over and it's not going to be difficult at all. LSU and Alabama were my two biggest schools. There's really no other school that can offer me something to shake me up to make me change my mind."
quote:

"I just loved it. It felt like home. I couldn't wait any longer and had to commit."
quote:

"Coach Miles is a real nice guy and real funny. We had a lot of things in common. I could see him being my coach for the next four years."

What more could you want? Sounds like he fell in love with LSU right away. Plus, he spent a lot of time with his future teammates, all of whom apparently spoke very highly of LSU. He didn't intend to visit LSU on short notice, but once he did - once he saw the school, met with the players and coaches, etc. - that "wrapped it up" for him. Welcome aboard, Kain!

Awesome! Love his attitude and personality! It'll be contagious. Maybe he'll be in other recruits' ears for the next couple years. Such a huge commit.

ETA: Also nice to know that he'll be staying in touch with a lot of the 2013 commits. Building those bonds for the future Tiger dynasty!

Damn, looks like he would've committed to bama had he not visited us

At first, that's what I thought too...but I think he was more amazed at how we showed him love on such a short notice. He said it seemed as if everything was already set up. Also, it helped that he clicked with the current and future (2013) players. The future is bright for LSU football. We have to give the coaching staff their props on this one. I just hope we can hold on to him. It's a long way until February 2014.

"Who cares about Landon Collins, now?"

Both good points. As long as we recruit well, the one that got away won't matter. Someone posted an old Dinardo quote like...

It's not the ones that got away that kill you, but the ones you got who don't pan out.

My crazy what? It looks like you were cut off before you finished the thought...

Anyway, I'm happy Daub committed. LSU is better for it regardless how it plays out, and play out it must. Other than being a great prospect, I don't know anything about him. I don't know if he's flighty or decisive. If Paris from TX had done this, I wouldn't blink an eye because I know he has strong LA ties and probably some purple and gold infused in his DNA, but I don't think this is the case with Daub.

Obviously he had a good time and was impressed, but it's a long time to signing day for him (about 10% of his life todate). What's going to happen when other schools roll out the red carpet like they will do on real official visits. Make no mistske that girl friends, classmates, teachers, coaches, recruiters, men and women of God, etc will be encouraging him to partake. Was it really true love, or was it rash? I'm not trying to be Peggy Prom here, but reservations seem prudent in this case.
