the play at 1:04 where the RB tries to bounce outside looks like some 2006 pre-injury Darry Beckwith against Arizona

Damn shame what happened to him with the injuries. I don't know how fast he was originally, but I will never forget how quickly he closed 10 yard on that quarterback. I'm fairly sure the quarterback will never forget either.

New update on Daub via 247. Some interesting comments

Thanks for the update I love hearing that he has absolutely no interest in UF and that the only reason hes visiting Florida is to see LSU for free.

This whole thing is extremely fishy and that's not some asshurt stance on my part. He is considered a big UF target and a lean for a while then takes a last-minute trip to LSU and commits to the surprise of everyone, even LSU people. That doesn't sound strange?

If this were an in-state kid for LSU doing the same for UF then you all would be equally as shocked and unlikely to believe it sticks. This isn't a 2013 kid, but rather one that doesn't ink his signature for another 1 1/2 years.

Response from Daub's mother

HELLO HTOWNGATOR,

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU THINK THE WHOLE THING IS FISHY. MY SON HAS NEVER HAD A FAVORITE TEAM HE JUST LOVES AND ENOYS TO PLAY FOOTBALL. WHEN WE WENT TO LSU HE MADE THIS CHOICE ALL ON HIS OWN. HE CAME TO ME AND SAID MOM THIS FEELS RIGHT. AND I TOLD HIM FOLLOW YOUR HEART SON. IF LSU IS WHERE YOU FEEL IS RIGHT FOR THEN YOU GOT MY SUPPORT. WE HAPPENED TO BE GOING HOME FROM BEING IN TX PLAYING ON THE USA FOOTBALL TEAM. SO WHY NOT STOP BY WE WERE RIGHT THERE. SO WHY NOT VISIT.. SO PLEASE LET MY SON ENJOY HIS COMMIT. HE IS A GOOD KID LOOKING TO PLAY SOME GREAT FOOTBALL . HE HAS ALWAYS SAID HE WANTED TO GO TO SCHOOL OUT SIDE THE STATE OF FLORIDA. IT WAS ME TRYING TO KEEP HIM CLOSE TO HOME IN FLORIDA.. BUT IT IS NOT ME GOING HE HAS TO GO WHERE HE FEELS COMFORTABLE...

More from his mother in response to a Gator fan

COOL BUT THIS IS HIS MOTHER... I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT HE MADE HIS CHOISE FOR LSU.. IT'S ALL GOOD. I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS FISHY... IF MISUNDERSTOOD YOU IM SORRY IF I DID.. IM NOT HERE TO START ANY WARS... JUST REPRESENTING MY SON. WHERE EVER MY SON GOES I WILL BE HI BIGGEST FAN....

for the record and this is him mom. he has talked amoung the family about LSU, FSU AND ALABAMA. people assumed FU was in the lead. but my son is a defensive player and FU is well known for their offensive players. but there is nothing going on he just felt at home there. all i know is i am looking forward to watching my son where ever he goes.

No shite. Shane Matthews has pretty much blatantly said he's going to steer him to Florida. And all the shite Meyer pulled, they don't need to be throwing stones in any direction.

I personally would not have an issue if a Louisiana stud took a stance like that his jr year to attend an out-of-state school.

If LCollins would have announced his commitment early, then LSU fans would have still been displeased, but it wouldn't be unexpected so we would have had a year to be on others.

THis is a sign of a mature thinking young man. AND, if he switches to FLA at some point before signing day, we will have to understand.

I wonder if Meyer still uses the "________ school doesn't graduate their players." pitch.

I know there were other factors, but look at the difference in reaction to Denzel Devall or Standish Dobard compared to Landon Collins or Torshiro Davis.

When it's an early decision, everyone just moves on. When the games are played, everyone gets pissed off.

I wonder if he's still claiming to see God as an apparition telling him certain players are meant to play for him.
