For some time, I've been saying that 2010/2011 would be major years. After looking at all the losses and inexperience at key positions next year, I'm a little worried about 2010.

We'll be losing LaFell, Scott, Williams, Dickson, Black all on offense.
I'm not so concerned about the D.

But we're going to be very green at RB and WR next year. There's obviously a lot of talent to fill those positions, but looking at our OOC games plus the SEC slate, I'm concerned.

What say you?

Mainly I'm concerned about the inexperience at the skill positions on offense and especially depth at WR now that Molten has left.

There's going to be a lot of young pups on the field next year.

RR
Shep
Hardrick
Faulk
Ridley
Murphy
Ford
Peterson

Those are your replacements. We'll be fine. Young but very talented.

We'll be fine...Randle will look to break out next year with JJ being a JR. Toliver should come back...but you never know. Chris Tolliver should break out as well next year.

Mike Ford is solid. Don't forget Murph will be a SR and will provide some experience. Also Lache will be an immediate impact.

Don't forget Calhoun and ? Lache. Nice to have some of those 4.3-type scat backs. Then we get Hilliard/Hill-type guys the next year. I would be more worried about D-line/linebackers in the future IMO.

D line should be fine. Downs and Davenport will be beasts at DT...and DEs Brockers and Montgomery are absolute studs.

Tru-dat,but would like to have more depth there. If Nevis goes down this year,we might have some issues.

we will be fine at rb and wr (although some young guys will need to step up but that is expected)

dont forget about Richard Murphy, he will be a senior next year and we will have Ridley and Ford plus hopefully Seastrunk- that will be a fine backfield

the only real worry for me is defensive line

If there's a position it's okay to be young at.. it's RB. The transition is not difficult.

what OOC schedule are you worried about......we could be like VT and play a top 10 team as well as a top 25 team....or like FSU and play 2 top 10 teams on the road OOC

or even Miami and play UF and OU

You are concerned about the positions we are already set at. All we need is lineman as we have studs already in the lineup in the skill positions. Sprinkle in the skill positions and load up on line and see who pans out.

Verge Ausberry said they are looking to replace USM on the schedule in 2010.

Your worries are a bit premature. I can appreciate what you are saying. But, you fail to recall that 2010 is a whole year away at this point. Your comparison is basically between the 2009 team v.s the 2009 team (without the seniors)playing the same exact competition from 2009. Thats not how this game works.

First you fail to take into consideration player development. These kids will improve 1st of all.

Second, each and every team in the SEC will lose star players. Florida will lose Tebow, Spikes, and other key players on both sides of the ball too. Ole Miss will probly lose Snead. Texas and Oklahoma will lose their Heisman QBs. etc. etc. etc.

Third, to add on to my second point. The schedule will not be the same because every team will undergo changes in personnel, losing their top talent to the league.

So yes, I would be worried if our current team had to play without all of our seniors this year, but 2010 is still a good bit away. Dont worry too much until this season is over.

Probably the easiest position to adjust to in college football- you either have the talent to play rb, or you don't...
