I have been saying this about instate kids. If you want in then get in or we are looking elsewhere

If you undersign in one year, say 2018 you sign only 20, in 2019, the next recruiting cycle, you are allowed to over sign and make-up for the undersigning. So, if you sign 20 in 2018 you can sign an extra 5 in 2019. Schools are already doing this. But, to do this, you better make sure your evaluations are spot-on and the kids you want will actually sign with you.

I’ve been told by someone who knows the family that LSU was his dream school prior to having all theses offers

This isn't entirely true, for whatever reason it seems like they have been slow playing a lot of kids instate this year. They haven't offered very many, and a lot of these kids have offers from other out of state schools. I hope it works out with all the oos kids because some of the instate kids not getting offers may start feeling a little disrespected, and may decide to scratch the home school off their list. I get it though you gotta go after the best players and if the coaching staff feels like the best players are in Cali and Tx then so be it, hopefully they come to LSU.

What instate kids specifically are you referring to? All of the top dogs from Louisiana have offers and are commitable. Hell, one of our top guys just decommitted from us.

Just in General there are only 3 DLinemen, 1linebacker, 1 running back and 2 or 3 receivers 2dbs with offers I can think of of the top of my head, like I said if LSU feels the drop off is that far off, then by all means go out of state and get the better players, just seems like there should be more than about 10 or 11 kids from Louisiana with offers.

Side note, but I do believe they also have to be an early enrollee to count back to the previous class if you did sign under the 25 the year before.

Really starting to wish we had taken less than 25 in 2019. It feels like we're going to run out of room for some of the home state kids.

If they have annoffer and dont commit, then its on them. Play stupid games........

Oh well. If it is a recruit LSU wants then it might be wise for him to commit and save their spot. Otherwise enjoy the process and take your chances of having a spot in the 25 at the end. I used to fill that we need to reserve spots for LA. Kids that we want. After getting burned the last few years I say go get the best out there no matter where their from
