Talk to my Dad and Bro @6est and they just were advised to leave for the reason you stated about the levees about 30min prior
They werent having problems @ JB and the middle school at that time.. They did adhere to the warning.. And headed to the West Bank to visit other fam..

Update from parents state troopers around 530 est. came down Sarah Victoria Dr. to state mandatory evac. Parents got out and now with relatives in Stonebridge.

ACOE is about to breach the levees to relieve the pressure and drain the parish.

I just talked to someone down there on the the westbank. Ironton and Point a la hache took on a lot of water and will be starting over again. From Port Sulphur south to Venice actually made out pretty good.

for once the back levees at Port Sulphur and below weren't overtopped....

Atually I lived and worked in lower plaquemines parish and never saw those levees overtopped until Katrina. I'm 33. I think they were only topped by Betsy, Camille, and Katrina all cat 3 storms or greater.
