Thought about it, but for now we are staying. Not saying I will get any sleep tonight though.....

My grandparents-in-law looked to be getting water today, but have been able to stop it so far. They are pretty close to Blind River.

Im not worried about cajuns trust me lol. Its just the only picture i had of the flooding. Thanks for the update on the levee. Some people i know were told earlier,by the national guard, it had been breached and told someone else to evac.

FYI - I confirmed this afternoon that the river isn't even to the levee at the moment so there is nothing even close to pressing on the levee. :) I DO think there was a rumor earlier about a levee in Ascension Parish failing, but like I said - wasn't true. Also, all of their pumps are currently still working.

Someone posted on Facebook that 3rd street was flooding in Lutcher, as I was driving down a completely dry 3rd street! Rumors suck! Regardless, everyone stay safe and alert!

Heard today that they are trying to sandbag the substation for gramercy and pump the water out. If they get this done they will turn the power back on. This came from one if the entergy guys wife that lives in the neighborhood. Crossing my fingers.

This is correct. I passed by the substation a couple hours ago. It looks like they are filling those giant baskets with sand and will then pump the water out.

Yeah. I hear Judo and the Parish boys did work setting up those Hesco baskets around the substation. Hope they got or are getting that water out of there and can dry that sucker off enough to crank it up.

And of course the west bank people are bitching all over Facebook 'cause they're feeling unloved.

They must've been busting arse out there today. When it first happened, we kept hearing at least 3 days. We aren't putting up everything just yet in case the water comes back, but I am so happy!!

St. James Parish Sheriff's Office Facebook status update:

One of our commanders has been routinely checking the water at the boat club flowing under US 61. He is reporting to us that the water has changed direction and is now slowly flowing out. Very encouraging news.
