Thanks man. I really appreciate this and I know others do too. Glad to see that we are pulling together to beat this storm. Anyway, I just have a small problem.
I bought a generator after Gustav in case the power went out again. After Gustav, the power was out for 12 days and all of the food I had got ruined. It was also miserable without AC.
Anyway, the generator has just been sitting in my shed since then. Yesterday, I went out to make sure it was working in the event that the power goes out today. I even sat in line for 2 hours the night before to fill up a few gas cans. The only problem is when I unscrewed the cap to pour the gas in last night, a snake was living in there! What should I do?

Mine worked fine for about 3 hrs. Turned it off to rework my extensions chords and now it won't start. Tried the choke in every position. I topped off the tank. Can it have too much gas? Sounds stupid but not sure what happened

No,try turning off all circuit breakers, make sure the run switch is on,fuel switch is in the run position and try cranking it.

Let out all gas from tank and bottom of carb.
Removed plug.
Sanded plug tips with SEAFOAM.
Put small amoung of SEAFOAM in tank with new gas.
3 cranks later....VROOOOOM

72 generators up and running so far. That's not counting those great neighbors that have taken this knowledge and helped out those in need in their neighborhods.
BTW,in the next day or so I will make myself available for some who just can't get their generators running. I'll make housecalls if I can. You have my email.
I don't expect payment of any kind except my fuel to get to you within the BTR and surrounding areas.
