RSD schools in BR are closed, you'd think parish public schools would follow suit

EBR likes to drag things out. If Baker and WBR schools are closed, one would think they would follow. They'll wait until 3-4 pm.

I really wish they'd make the call. I have a tailgate tent to put out tomorrow and not having to go to work would help.

I'm thinking EBR won't have school, but they are pretty-hard headed. When do you guys think they'll announce?

Message Posted by LSUsmartass How do I get into this teaching gig so I can get all these days off?
You do realize they add these days to the end of school year right?
no they don't .. they have 2 days built into the calendar for this purpose .. over that, then they have to make it up .. after Gustav, all they did was add like 7 minutes to the end of the school day for the rest of the year to make up a few days ..

Hard to say when they'll announce...not anytime soon, I wouldn't bet.
They need to take into account that the majority of the students are inner-city and I would think many of them do not have power.

not to mention, let's face it .. many teachers will call in "sick" tomorrow and a lot of kids will wind up staying home too .. might as well just shut it down for another day ..
