Good old Craftsman 54” deck, 25hp Koehler. It does the job an is not overpriced as well as low maintenance.

Just saw this:

I can't speak for the new ones, but I had an older model and HATED that thing with a passion. I still have nightmares about looking up part numbers in the owners manual, which I had printed out and put in a binder I used it so much.

I'm looking for the same thing. Currently have and old Gravely 42" zero turn, that still works fine, but lacking a little power and time to upgrade. I'm still looking for a 42" mower as I have a small gate to go through. So far my choice is the Hustler Raptor X. Gonna do a little more research though.

The closest Hustler dealer to me is 30 miles. I finally decided on the 42" Raptor X. I called the dealer and he had those and the XL's in stock. Drove up there today and Decided on the 42" Raptor XL.

I think in the long run the flex forks, more comfortable seat and 21hp motor will be worth the extra $400. He said he can probably deliver it this afternoon, so hopefully I can mow with it tonight.

EDIT: They delivered the mower around 3:00. Just finished mowing. Great cut and way faster and more power than my 15 year old 1740. Time will tell.

I have a gravely zt 34 for sale on Lafayette Craigslist.

We’re on slightly less than an acre and keep adding obstacles in the yard that I want to get a bigger self-propelled push mower.

I bought a ZTHD 48 two years ago for my 1.4 acre lot and it’s a great size for that purpose.
