We have some property along the Amite River under contract and I wanted to get some quotes on building a dock and pier. I know I can't put the pier out into the river but I want a decent amount of real estate for the kids and guests to fish and hang out. I was looking for some recommendations to get quotes.

Bonus if you know where I could launch a boat on the "upper" Amite.

Eddie Reese..985 386 7920 built dock, bulk head for me back in the early 90's...has all the equipment...barge, crane, pile driver and tug....he ain't keep...but good.

After we close we are going to approach the owners of neighboring land to see if we can't purchase something to build a launch on, but that is super into the future. I am sure someone, somewhere has a private launch that would be accommodating to someone who want to use it in exchange for helping pay for upkeep and repairs. I don't want to leave my boat in the water ALL the time but it would be nice to have a close launch and be able to dock it, especially when we are going to have guests. I like to have it on the trailer ready to drag to the coast, most of my fishing trips are last minute decisions.
