Don’t weed and feed. They should be separate. It’s too early to feed now unless you do a potash fert. You should just be taking care of the weeds.

Follow ronk’s advice - keep your weed control as a separate activity from fertilizing (“feeding”) your lawn. You’ll get better results.

“Weed and Feed” are convenience products. Read this brief article on weed & feed products and their use by the turf and weed extension specialist with the LSU AgCenter - should answer most of your questions. LINK.

Fertilize (feed) your lawn in late March/early-mid April depending on your type of grass and location in the state. If you are insistent on using a “weed and feed” product then late March/April would also be the best time to use it.

If you have winter weeds in your lawn that you want to control now considering using this herbicide “cocktail” mixture.
