Borderline over fert, and yes mow as low as possible as often as you can. Try for every 2-3 days.
You might try a good hit of 20-20-20 since centipede hates phosphorus.
What are you workin’ with currently?
How much Bermuda? How big of an area?

I’m going to get some measurements today. I’m really looking at 3 different areas. I’ll give the details when I have them.
On another note, anyone buy a better wand for their sprayer? I have just a few one gallon and 2 gallon champions. I see on Bermuda Bible people have bought all of the parts and built some but I don’t have that kind of energy to track down the pieces right now.

Alright here’s my situation:
- back yard is approximately 5500 sqft. It got rutted up demoing an old patio and pouring fresh concrete. So I chopped it with a tractor and it became dirty, every weed known to man, and common Bermuda. My plan is to kill the weeds the remainder of the year then next spring/early summer bring in sand and level it a bit.
- one side yard same as backyard. Measurements to come
- front yard and other side are currently centipede with common Bermuda throughout. Measurements to come.
I’m kind of taking the approach of fix the back yard first and then worry about the rest because the front yard still looks really good. The back not so much.

Are you already mowing and fertilizing the bit of common you have in the backyard? What kind of coverage do you have?

I mow 2-3 times a week. Or if you ask my wife, 2-3 times a day. I’ve done 0 fertilizing (not exactly sure what to get other than “high in nitrogen”) and the only weed control I’ve done is hitting clumps of Dallas grass with eraser because I have a bad infestation.

Don’t I know it…
Look for Scott’s Green Max at Walmart.
I recently found it for $23.50
If not that, just grab a 40 lb bag of Sta Green 20-0-0 or 20.5-0-0 at Lowe’s.
It’s 100% fast release nitrogen so apply it every 2-3 weeks.
When I have time, I apply it every 7-10 days.

Got it. I’ll pick some up. What are you using for preemergent?

Button weed is a tough one but MSM and use with a surfactant. Took me 3yrs to control mine
For sedges I use dismiss/dismiss south,it’s expensive but goes a long way it will start dying in 24 hrs certainty for the rest of spot spraying
You may get some yellowing so be careful on dosing especially in this heat
Prodiamine is good. I use spectacle for poa it’s is really expensive good luck. Is a marathon not a sprint

What ole man says is true. Weed control will gradually get easier.
I’m confident right now that all I’ll need is a couple of light broadcast sprays next summer after a spring crabgrass pre emergent.

I finally sprayed celsius/sedgehammer yesterday before the rain started up again here in BTR. Do I need to change up my fertilizer schedule since putting down the post emergent? I was going every 3-4 weeks to pump nitrogen.

Not at all.
I think you picked a safe time to do it with all of the rain.
Speaking of, I can probably use another broadcast.

Where can you buy 20-20-20 fertilizer?
How long until Bermuda seeds are considered established? If I over-seeded centipede in May can I spray post emergents now?

1. 13-13–13 will do
2. About a year
3. It’s fine to apply now though.
