Screw or nail boards?

Screws hold better so I use them as much as feasible when building anything out of wood.
Have never built anything out of cedar though.

Always screws and use exterior grade screws.

Screws obviously are the best option but ring shanked nails are plenty for a fence. When a few come out in a year then put a screw in those.

I used galvanized ring shank nails. Also I stained the fence boards with clear stain with the fungicide SW sells three times before nailing them up. Wall is 8 foot. I do not expect it to warp or rot.

Stainless screws are the best. Galvanized screws or nails will stain cedar eventually. But if you are installing hundreds of feet of fence, I would nail it with ring shank galvanized nails with a coil nail gun to save time and money.

I used stainless ring shank with a coil nailer. Work smart not hard.

You would be amazed at the durability of a well built fence using only screws. It cost more, but will pay for itself in the longevity you gain.

I screwed with those star head tan coated screws. Fence is about 9 years old and the screws look brand new.
