We have the Magic Chef Portable Ice Maker
Its kind of loud, but it makes ice pretty fast in my opinion.

Have some friends with countertop pebble ice makers, GE Profile Opals. One of which is plugged in right above their under-counter ice maker...

Had a best buy gift card to burn.
Best Buy Ice Maker
Got this one a couple months ago, still working good. Great for parties and it makes ice pretty quick.
The ice bin stays full - as the ice melts it drips back into the reservoir and gets made into... more ice. There is no cooling system to keep the ice from melting, just insulation.
Bagging and freezing it requires breaking up as the cubes will freeze together.
Overall not bad for $89. If it quits working it wont hurt as much as one of those $2000 under counter jobs.

These are the way to go. If I can, my next fridge won't have an ice maker. Just get one of these and throw it out when it breaks

GE Profile Opals
have had one for 4 years now amazing i think the 2.0 with the side tank. BUT YOU have to use distilled water. one tank of tap water it will start making some weird noises.
