This has started popping up every where recently. What is it and what will kill it?

Crabgrass.

You can kill it with either MSM or Celcius. If using MSM spray when temps are below 85 degrees if possible. Celcius is a superior product but a bit on the pricy side.

If I didn’t have crabgrass I wouldn’t have a back yard. Kids play soccer damn near every.

I doubled it for spot spraying and it didn't touch my VBW

I've read that mature VBW is almost impossible to get rid of once matured through spraying...Celcius will stunt it after a few applications but at the same time it'll stunt your lawn so it's pick and choose your battles
