Weed and feed under trees

Can anybody recommend a good fertilizer that will help control weeds that I can use under trees? Most of the Scotts brand weed and feed products say not to use under the drip line of a tree.

have you tried using a shade mix grass seed under the trees? The best way to prevent weeds is to have a thick, healthy grass to choke them out/prevent them. No need for weed killers in that situation.

What is your current grass? How high are your trees trimmed up above the ground? Do you have issues with surface tree roots?
