My FIL has the sump pump in his basement in Alabama. His runs continuously when the water level comes up. He has a foundation issue and needs the pump. When power goes off he has an alarm that sounds so he can go start the generator t9o run his pump. I’d run away from a plan to buy a house if it had a sump pump 8n the basement
I thought all basements had sump pumps? They’re in damn near every house in my area with a basement.

We get some water in our basement ( we have a daylight basement that opens to the back to ground level.
We are adding better French drains to keep water from getting to the basement in the first place
What type of French drains, etc are there and what could be added?
