This is a fact.
Tankless are not great for efficiency but I don't think there is a tremendous difference either way. The main draw for tankless is endless hot water.
Also, if you have a circulating system for instant hot water, I would think a tank is the way to go though I am just speculating.

Have a tankless now, don't plan to ever go back to a tank heater.
