Using automatic sprinklers to water soil around slab

Does anyone here use their perimeter auto irrigation to water their slab? I water once a week but I've got a 1" soil pullback around the slab. I was wondering what settings to use (time/days), if it was possible. Next option would be drip line that I could hopefully bury but that won't be any time soon. I've got a post tensioned slab so it may not be that big of a deal. Just trying to prevent future slab issues for the least amount of effort.

I suppose you have clay soil and talking about watering to keep soil from shrinking and cracking your slab.
Post tension slab is supposed to keep slab from cracking so watering shouldn’t be necessary.
When brother in law built house he put post tension slab. When I built my house builder preferred to drill pier holes.
Lots of houses in central La.,north of Red River have had cracked slabs because of clay soil with conventional slabs.

I would think that your landscaping would come into play here also? As in do you have a texas rock garden? Or shrubs or grass?
But yes installing a drip would be easy enough though certainly not a 30 min job.

Front and half of one side is flower bed with shrubs/cedar mulch. The rest of the perimeter is Bermuda.
