Underground irrigation piping leak

How does one narrow down the location of a pipe leak on a pressure line for an irrigation system? A large area is wet where the leak is located . Impossible to dig up that large an area ? Thanks

unless you have X-ray vision you’re going to have to dig. If the area is sloped start uphill. If it’s flat start in the middle

Turn off the irrigation main at the backflow to allow the area to dry. Turn it back on looking for the wet area and chase the clean, flowing water

Id start where the grass is the greenest, thickest, and looks the best.

I would assume if you want to narrow it down and you see where the area is pooling, focus on the center.

Yep, it’s off now . I’ll try and turn it on and look for wherever water occurs first . Sound like some serious digging ahead !

If there is a tee in the area, that is where it is leaking.

Not sure about the T ? Have to dig I guess.
