I've seen some that are very expensive, while I have seen some that are reasonable (Chinese knock-off). Any recommendations for the "reasonably" priced ones?

Harbor Freight or Amazon?

I'm going to check out HF, but $2 is insane. Do you believe it works as intended?

I have the same experience with HF "Warrior" heat gun ~ $20. I only use it a few times a year. The body gets a little hot, so I work slowly.

Normally, I skip HF tools with electric motors. They usually do not have bearings, and the shaft soon begins to wobble. In a blower that's acceptable.

It’s called njty t600. Yeah it works. Probably not super long distance but at least you don’t have to touch things. Going rate is $5 right now.

I bought one of the portable thermal cameras (Klein) from Home Depot a while back. It’s been quite useful in diagnosing random things from a cylinder misfire to making sure my furnace was pumping out enough heat during the snow.
