Sugar Kettles

I’m looking for some guidance in buying a sugar kettle for my house. The wife wants an antique one with historical significance and I’d be fine with one made recently. I figure it’s cast iron so not sure why the age would matter aesthetically. Is there anyone here in the know that could give me some pointers on what/ where I need to be looking?

We have the fiberglass replicas.
Only issue we've had is having to repaint them once a year. As I put chlorine in them to keep them clear.
Either way id go to Brian's furniture in Port Allen.

Actual antique kettles are massively expensive unless you get lucky. The cast iron ones from Brian's are still somewhat expensive but have the old rusty look. Fiberglass is an alternative that is cheaper.

Back in the mid-late sixties you could drive around in the country and pick up all you wanted. Pretty expensive nowadays. Best to go with the fiberglass replica.

When do wives think a step past their own wants?
