The weed is Virginia Buttonweed. The other issues with your grass is that I believe you need to sharpen or get a new blade. Those ragged ends are caused by dull blades.

I’ve sharpened.

Any idea why its only effecting that one spot? You can see grass is green and healthy at the top of the other pic.

Will Celsius knock this weed out?

I’m sure it will work, but if it’s only this one spot, just pull it up.

Celsius will work. I’d say cut it higher. Looks to be on a hill. Pulling it will work easily too

The weed is spurge. I've run into Celsius resistant spurge in DFW. Use MSM if you have it. The issue with your grass is probably going to be large patch. Grab a brown blade by the tip and pull it out. If it comes out easy and has black/dark brown lesions at the bottom then apply propiconazole.

Thanks Ronk. It did actually resist my first treatment of Celsius. Will hit it with MSM.

What causes brown patch? I’ve been watering 2x/week at about 20 minutes. Nothing over the top.

I didn't know there is Celsius resistant spurge growing. That explains why Celsius didn't knockout my spurge this year. I applied MSM about a two weeks ago and it was dead in about 7-10 days. I hope there isn't a MSM resistant species out next year lol.

All fungus needs is host, water, soil temp. St Aug is the perfect host, you are watering, 70 degree soil temps. Nothing you can do really. Luckily it is easy to treat.
