Spraying 46-0-0 in spring, does it need to be watered in?

Not fertilizing just trying to figure some things out and want to know what i need to do. Plan on trying to spray my fertilizer next year in low dosages to coincide with my PGR, chelated iron. Do the lower dosages need to be watered in after a few hours? Worried about leaf burn and have a large amount to spray. Would be putting about .23 per 1k.

The label on the product you use will usually state how quickly one should water it in, and though some of the nitrogen can be absorbed by the foliage, most is absorbed by the roots, hence the need to water it in. Follow label directions for whatever product you are using.

Using straight 46-0-0 that I get from work. No packaging. Just was hoping I could do without the watering in because of having such a huge area. Would probably be done in the late evening to allow no sun and dew in the mornings. At such a low rate of .23 per 1000, I was hoping it wouldn’t Scott h anything. May have to rethink this.

Well I assume it’s liquid urea having a 46-0-0 analysis, and because of its atmospheric volatility it’s best to water it in as soon as possible post application, but you certainly have more than 2 hours. 24, 48 hours might be best - try to time application prior to a rainfall event. 1/4 to 1/2 inch should suffice.
