Speed Queen Models Advice

All you Speed Queen owners, what model did you go with DR7, DC5, DR5, DR3 and why.
My washer decided yesterday that even though I set the dial at medium load capacity, what I really wanted was a load that would fill my laundry room, my kitchen, and my basement. Now, my house sounds like a turbine engine with all the fans, dehumidifiers, floor suckers, etc that the insurance sent over. The basement ceiling is trashed, along with the carpet. They're trying to save the hardwood floors upstairs. Out $2500 on the deductible and just spent $3000 last month repainting the basement. Only good thing, is I procrastinated putting new carpet in down there. Thank the Lord.
I already fixed the washer, but it's almost 22 years old. Not sure I can trust it again.
ETA-Just realized I used the dry model numbers, the washers are TR.

Definitely following this thread. Looking at these models for my new house and they are definitely proud of them $$$. They even have the "pet friendly" model but honestly don't know enough about them or anyone that has them.

I purchased the SQ TR5 in March. I’ve been very happy with it - quiet, short wash cycle, and cleans clothes very good, at least to the degree I soil them, and I do a good bit of outdoor gardening work, etc. It replaced a 10 year old Whirlpool Cabrio that died that I was also happy with.
As I recall the TR3, TR5 and TR7 come with 3, 5 and 7 year parts and labor warranties, respectively. Few more features with each “higher” model but as far as I know the major mechanical components are same with each of these models.

We bought the 5 level washer and gas dryer last April. Could not be more satisfied.

I would focus on the SQ company and forget the model.
It is a general consensus here that the 2018 model just did not clean clothes. Forget the warranty that machine would not do what people paid SQ to do.
I bought one. Immediately it was clear the clothes were not getting clean. The dealer wouldn’t take it back after the first week for even 50% of my money back. SQ said I didn’t know how to wash clothes. Consumer Reports that year rated it the worst by far of any of the washers they tested.
Now the next year all the dealers had quit the model and offered a pro model or newly modified SQ consumer model. Clearly they were forced to admit their 2018 model sucked but they did NOTHING for people that purchased it.
Independent appliance dealers like SQ because they do not sell to big boxes. I can understand that but what I understand today is that those independents will not stand behind SQ. They like the warranty reimbursement (I had to have the control board changed twice in the first year) and the relative exclusivity of SQ.
After a year of cussing that machine I bought a whirlpool from Home Depot and had it delivered bought the five year extended warranty. I paid $250 less for it than the SQ.
I offered the SQ dealer the one year old $1100 machine for free if he would haul it off and he wouldn’t take it saying they were crap. He still sells SQ BTW.
I haven’t been back in his store. I did buy the dryer and have not had any trouble with it but when I do I am just going to buy another brand and not deal with the dealer. He was slow on service anyway.

Anyone have the TC5 without the lidlock?
Posted on 9/13/21 at 8:58 am to slacker130
I have the TC5. It does not have a lid lock. You can throw in more laundry anytime. It does "pause" when the lid is opened

Our 25yr old Kenmore washer broke right around the time Speed queen came out with their DC line. Our DC5 washer doesn't clean cloths worth a shite. I use to be able to throw the pants I cut grass with the weed eater in the old Kenmore and they would come out clean. Now with the DR5 I have one pair of pants that I use for weed eating because they don't come clean and that is after hosing them off outside.

Just picked up a pair of TR5 machines today. Will install them tonight. Will report back on performance.

Are you happy with its performance or does it not clean like the DC5 as lsujunky stated.

I wish I had kept fixing my old Kenmore. You probably have a real agitator in that machine. Everything on it can be replaced for less than half the price of a new one and you will have a better machine.
The whirlpool I bought is a MUCH better machine the SQ was and has not given me any trouble.
