Shower/bath cracking

My house was built in 2018, it was built by a local contractor and is part of a 10 or so home subdivision. Generally, it seems like it was built fairly well however the shower in the master bath and the bathtub in the second bathroom were not installed correctly.
They both flex and pop a lot if anyone uses them and have recently started developing stress cracks in the fiberglass.
Is it time to just have both ripped out and replaced? Neither seem to have proper support. I would likely have to pay someone to do this as I don't have any help and am not great at DIY projects, what kind of ballpark would that be? $10k?

Sounds like they didn't put any support underneath them. Even if you fix the cracks it will do it again without fixing the cause.
The support is just some wood under it to absorb any added weight.

some of those tubs require pouring a concrete bed under it. The concrete hardens and holds the bottom in place to prevent cracking. I had to do it for the guest bathroom I did.

If it was a new build, does warranty come in to play?

Just got through with the same issue. You have a couple of options.
1) loose a lot of weight.
2) Once the fiberglass starts cracking, you have to replace. I used self leveling grout under my pan. Rock solid.
Can’t help with a contractor, but look at your home warranty. You might be lucky.

Wonder if this could be one of those situations where while it’s outside of the warranty time frame, because there is no way you could have known it still falls within the statue of limitations to make the contractor repair at his costs. Could be worth a call to a local attorney

We would use Sheetrock mud to level tubs. Once it was set, it would harden, conforming to the tub.
