My Honda turned 10years old this summer.
All I’ve ever done is change oil, change spark plug, and sharpen blades. Otherwise still runs and sounds like the day I bought it.
When it ever dies, I’ll buy another (after checking back here first).

My humble $0.02. My Toro Personal Pace with a B&S is 15 years old, almost 1/2 acre lot. I upgraded to the cast aluminum deck to replace my old 2 cycle snapper that also had an aluminum deck.
I screwed up and drained the oil and forgot to replace the oil the 2nd year I had it. I cut the yard 3 times before I realized what I had done. Long story short, it's still running fine and always starts and doesn't blow smoke. I always use Stabil in my corn gas. Does a great job of mulching. I think I paid over $500 back then. I've only replaced the rear drive tires. Your mileage may vary.

I paid for the upgrades on my 2020 Honda so it has the blade shut off, I didn’t even know what it was and not necessary at all but extremely nice. I can keep my mower going and use the self propel when going over by gravel and other areas I don’t want the blade running, also keep it running if I dump the bag or stop to pull a weed or pick up dog shite.
What I came to say though, was the Honda has a fuel shut off between the tank and carb. So when I finish mowing my back I turn the fuel off and use the self propel to run it back to my garage in the front and it takes 3-4 minutes for it to run the gas out. I don’t do this every time now but I definitely will this fall when time between cuts spreads out.

Toro front propel with Honda engine has been fantastic for me this Summer. Bought it around July 1 so it's really new and I can't attest to lifespan, but it's great. Cranks on first pull, lean on back wheels to turn, etc.
Picked this up as well. Extra $50 for the Honda engine but I feel long term better bang for buck. So far it’s a monster
