Under the pink line is some lingering perennial rye, which I seeded over mostly dirt and a few stolons of St Aug last fall.

The common Bermuda is finally starting to send out stolons over the boundary. I can see that Bermuda really is “allergic to PRG”…but now it’s basically dead.

Scalp, hand till, and seed some common? I have 5 lbs from Hancock.

Or scalp, hand till, and be patient as stolons do their thing? Should I get coverage by September?

*This strip gets 8-9 hours of sun right now.

I would try to pregerminate some of the seed. I just did this with seed from Hancock. Soaked some for 2 weeks in water, out the rest out in some top soil. The soaked seed has come up much better. Your best bet though is to. It a pro plugger and start plugging.

I think you’re over thinking it. Bermuda runs like a Nigerian in a marathon. Fert it and wait it out.

Great analogy. The war in my backyard between Bermuda and St. Aug enters its third summer (after the bad batch of Scott’s Weed and Feed wiped out a beautiful yard of St. Aug). I am not a Bermuda fan, but admire its tenacity. It is one healthy weed.

Showed up to work and my co worker told me the crew verticut the field inside of our track just yesterday.
I bagged quite a few sprigs. It's Celebration.
Thinking I might try it out by the road where we get less sun.
Not sure I want to mix it with the common in the back yard.
It would probably make me hate my common that I've worked so hard to cultivate.
