I used a half bag in the fall, about to put down the other half. Will it still be effective?

Update- it's been a month and the yard is now completely consumed in weeds.

Either I was late putting it out (Feb 11 in Zone 8) or this shite was no good.

It worked well on the winter weeds when I put it out last fall.

The weeds I have now are some kind of grass, henbit, chickweed, dandelion, chicory, violet. A lot.

Most of those would have germinated during October and November. So your fall application is the one to blame.

Did you follow the instructions on the bag? Some kind of external factor must have worked against you.

Your 11 February application would have to prevent spring and summer weeds, which it doesn't sound like you have (yet).

What kind of grass do you have? Spray the winter weeds or just keep mowing.

I used a scott's spreader on the setting it says on the bag. AND I cross hatched, putting down even more than the recommended amount.

Grass is established bermuda originally sodded in the 90's. As far as type, based on what I know about the developer, it would have been the cheapest Bermuda sod money could buy in 1997.

Honestly, the Scott’s spreader could be the problem.
I find that they don’t work well unless you run!

Like music to my ears! Almost certainly it’s Tifway 419.

Scalp soon and maintain at 1-2 inches. Mow every 2-4 days.
That alone will take care of the winter weeds!

It scalps at 2 inches due to lumpiness

Spray 1/8 tsp of MSM Turf per 1,000 sq ft, diluted in 1.5 to 2 gal of water.
