Running Small Engines

I run all my generators/small engine equipment monthly during periods of low usage. I only put non ethanol fuel in them. What is the shortest amount of time I can run them? I usually run them from 20-30 minutes each months, Would 10 or 15 minutes suffice?

I run my Briggs and Stratton generator (Craftsman) no more than once per year. It stays outside under a tarp.

As long as it gets up to operating temp I’m not sure what any additional time is accomplishing.

So ten minutes is good?

Long enough to burn off moisture that accumulates & that includes putting a load on the generator portion of the unit - if a generator - plug something into the generator to put a load on it - like a space heater, hair dryer, etc. .
How long should that be ???? What you are doing now seems fine, most likely better than what most of us do, and cutting that time in 1/2 is better than not running-exercising them at all.
What I tend to do is pull them out and let them run while I cut the lawn, which is usually 45 min-1 hour, so I’m not bothered by the engines running since I’m listening to a lawn mower motor anyway - that covers about 9-10 months out of the year.

All you are really doing is cycling the gas, oil, etc and putting the engine to use to reduce build up from not being used. I wouldn’t stress about just doing it for 5-10 mins at most honestly. Doing that monthly and then running them for 30-60 mins once a year I think is likely fine.
